graden av uppfyllnad was a site specific installation in an old industrial hall which now serves as a place for exhibitions, concerts and other kinds of cultural activities. the stands next to the inner wall are a permanent part of the interior and play a central part both as stands but also as a scene. we chose to focus on its monumental qualities in connection to the room and to discuss strategies on how to act upon such a dominating architectural element.

our construction was built in direct connection to the already existing stands and at the same time underlining the archaic, monumental qualities of the room. the close connection between the two constructions made the stands an important and equal part of the artpiece. our aim was to construct a form that on one hand gave the impression of being a self-evident part of the room having a defined purpose and function relating to it. at the same time the construction was very much pure form playing with the aesthetics of monumental, minimalistic sculpture. the wood and the black stain painted on were identical with the materials in the stands.
